one contraction curve drives everything.
the first 26% of a beat is a fast squeeze (a cubic ease),
the rest a slow refill with a little overshoot.
the tentacles are never steered. each point remembers
where the bell was a moment ago, so they lag and trail
on their own. their sway scales with the bell's width,
so a skinny jelly's strands hang under it instead of flailing.
the oral arms wave on a separate clock.
glows are radial gradients, never a blur.
in dark water they add light, in the lagoon they tint.

every choice multiplies, so the number of switches matters more than the length of any one list. the count is read off the studio's own controls, so a new hat makes it bigger by itself. add 7 colour pickers and 20 smooth sliders on top and it stops being a number.
nothing here phones home. not even the jellies.
